It’s true, Disney Parks have just about everything you could ever want or desire. But sometimes those things can get a little pricey, and there is the rare object impossible to find. Which is why today’s post is all about preparation and planning ahead. We’ve done the work for you and created a list of essentials to stock up on before you set off on your magical adventure.

1. Ponchos

True, they sell these in the Parks. But the cost can be quite high, and ponchos are something that get torn and destroyed easily. Which is why we recommend stocking up on Amazon or at your local retailer (especially dollar stores!) beforehand.

2. Kids Entertainment

assorted small kids toys

For those with small kids tagging along, we highly suggest using this tip. Grab a mixed bag of small toys at the party store or Amazon and keep them stashed away for long lines and sit down periods waiting for parades and shows to start. The fact that it’s new will awe the kids, and you won’t spend extra money on pointless items from the gift shop that will only hold a temporary interest. Because these are so inexpensive it won’t be a big deal when they’re inevitably lost, broken, or left behind.

3. Autograph Book (and Pen)

Another item you can get in the Parks, but should save your money on. Local Disney souvenir shops outside the Parks are a great place to stock up on autograph books, and there are usually more options to pick from. Don’t forget to grab a pen too! (Quick tip- the characters typically prefer Sharpies, as they’re easier for their big hands to grasp.)

4. Drink Packets

Water is a vital Disney Park Essential. All that walking can exhaust you, and it’s important to stay hydrated! While soft drinks and special beverages are fun, for the moments you need something to quench your thirst we high recommend bringing your favorite flavor of on-the-go drink packets. Just get a bottle or cup of water and mix it in for a change of flavor, while still stocking up on those electrolytes for little cost.

5. Portable Charger

Most of the time, you don’t stay at Disney for a short period of time. And since you’ll likely be taking photos and videos to commemorate your epic trip, your phone battery will wear down fast. Which is why we suggest bringing along a small portable charger. Stock up on power during a parade or lunch, that way you never have to worry about missing a single moment of magic.

6. Reusable Straws

Straws are no longer given at Disney, so we suggest investing in a reusable straw. Perfect for any age, there are countless options of reusable straws. We suggest something like the Resip, which folds down and comes with it’s own keychain carrier.

7. Sanitizer

hand sanitizing wipes

It’s no secret germs are a big concern. And obviously we all need to stay clean! You can never go wrong with hand sanitizer, but we suggest doing one better and using sanitizing wipes. They’re less messy and just as clean, without all the hassle of liquid sanitizer

8. Gum

One of the few things Disney doesn’t sell. So if you want to chew gum while you’re at the Parks, make sure to stock up and bring your own!

9. Fans

assorted colored foldable fans

Florida especially is known for the heat, so make sure to bring some sort of fan along- especially if you’ll be visiting in the summer. We suggest a foldable fan to minimize your load, but feel free to use an electric fan if you like. But again, this is something you’ll want get beforehand to save money.

10. Bags

ziploc bags

Ziploc bags are always a good idea to have! Whether someone doesn’t finish a snack, something breaks, or you need to divide up spending money, you’ll always find a use.
