I’m a New York native. I lived in Manhattan’s Lower East Side for 22 years and as much as I loved the NYC lifestyle, if there’s any downside to it, it’s the price tag. Living in such an expensive city on a college budget meant deal hunting wherever possible. I shopped at thrift stores, utilized public transit (and walked just about everywhere,) and if I wanted a night on the town, I was looking for the best Happy Hour deals available. With over two decades of living in NYC, I’d dare say I’m an expert on most places and things to do in the city. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of the best Happy Hours in the city! Here are the 11 best New York Happy Hours:

This nautical themed gastropub offers a seafood focused menu, craft cocktails and one of the longest running Happy Hours in the city. Stop in between 12 and 8pm for $6 drink specials including select wines, draft beer, frozen drinks, and well cocktails.

Everyone knows St. Mark’s Place is the place to be on a Friday night in New York. The rich culture, remarkable personality, and whimsical bars and shops are only a few reasons so many flock to the strip. Located in the center of it all is Ten Degrees, a small wine bar with a daytime Happy Hour that lasts until 8pm. With cocktails starting at about $10, take advantage of their 2 for 1 special.
The Heights Bar and Grill

After being nearly destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, generous friends, families and regulars helped them to rebuild because they believed in what Fresh Salt was providing–a neighborhood oasis. Corkbuzz offers perhaps one of the most unique Happy Hours in the city. A mere $15 dollars buys you a Blind Tasting Happy Hour from 12-6pm. Choose white or red and sip away the work week’s stress with quality wine. Manhattan locations are on Union Square and in Chelsea.
