3 Simple Ways to Achieve Beachy Waves

Beachy waves are the hair trend that refuses to die. It’s not going anywhere. It’s ultra feminine and holds a lot of appeal. Even if you have shoulder length hair, you can achieve the beach-inspired curl. Long hair styles have been using this key trend for a number of years. It’s sexy, feminine and fun. But, it’s low maintenance too. If you’re not a fan of washing your hair daily, you can keep the waves in place using rollers. It’s the ultimate hair style for all fun loving girls!

Here are three simple ways that you can achieve beachy waves.

Method 1: Overnight Braiding

Overnight braiding is perfect for girls with long hair. Think about where you want your beachy waves to start. If you want them to start halfway down your locks, braid from below your neckline. However, if you want a head full of tousled locks, begin by French pleating the top of your hair. Add two, thick braids to wet hair and unleash in the morning. This is a great way of achieving beach-inspired curls without causing damage to your hair. Make sure that you are armed with salt spray and detangled treatments so that your hair looks fabulous. Apply a serum to wet hair too, so that your hair looks super shiny all day long. It’s the low-key way to achieving a low-key look.

Method 2: Curling Tongs and Flat Irons

Curling tongs and flat irons have always been a great way of achieving waves in girl’s hair. The key is to not over process the hair in the flat iron or curling tongue. Make sure that you take small sections and keep the curls loose. Wrap the section of hair around the device a couple of times. This will produce a tousled, minimalist curl. After all, you don’t want unleash your inner Shirley Temple. Make sure that you lather your hair in heat protection spray. For girls with short hair, this is a must. Many people choose to use GHD straighteners, or a Sultra Bombshell wand to achieve this look. It will take practice, so arm yourself with clips and separate your hair into sections.

Method 3: The Vintage Roller

The vintage roller has made a comeback! Whether you have long or short hair rollers are the savvy solution to curling your hair. Velcro rollers are designed to be kept in the hair overnight while you sleep. Heated rollers can achieve a bombshell look in hours. Choose bigger rollers to produce bouncier locks. Smaller rollers will produce a ringlet style curl. Twist the hair around the roller clockwise and secure in place with a bobby pin. Make sure that you spray your hair with hairspray once it is on the rollers to secure any flyaway hairs. If you are sleeping in your rollers, simply roll the rollers out in the morning. Give you hair a quick ‘brush’ with your fingers to separate the curls. Voila! You have beachy waves in an instant.

With all of these methods, do make sure that you don’t condition your hair. This will cause the curl to drop out. It’s all about looking fab, not drab!
