4 Small Steps to a Healthier You

Since the start of quarantine, I’ve tried to make it a top priority to incorporate healthier things into my daily life. When we initially started quarantine, I relaxed and watched Netflix all day. After a while, I started to feel lazy and unproductive. In this article, I will give you the inside scoop on some habits I have added to my daily routine that have changed my life for the better. These steps may be small but over time, they help to build a better routine and improve your well-being.

1. Water Bottle

This step may sound obvious, but by having a water bottle by my side throughout the day it has helped me a lot! Not only has drinking water helped me stay hydrated, but it has helped my skin stay clearer. To make this step seem more enjoyable and fun, I decided to invest in a colorful HydroFlask water bottle, where I can add cute stickers onto it. It makes the process of drinking and carrying it around more enjoyable!

2. Walking

When I first wake up in the morning, I make my bed and quickly throw on my running shoes. I noticed that when I walked early in the morning, I felt more productive. In addition to feeling productive, I noticed it has toned my legs too! It’s known that walking at least 2 miles every day can help tone and slim your legs over a period of time. I recommend this step the most due to it being so easy to do anytime and anywhere!

3. Healthy Breakfast

I’ll admit, I used to never eat breakfast and would only eat at lunch and dinner time. However, by eating breakfast I noticed that I don’t snack as much anymore! When it comes time to have breakfast, I decide to make myself scrambled eggs with spinach chopped up in it. The best part is it only takes a few minutes to make! If I’m rushing in the morning, it’s so easy to put together! As they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

4. Veggies

When I used to see anything green on my plate, I wouldn’t dare to touch it. However, I noticed that when I started to eat more vegetables that I felt a lot better about myself. It’s very easy to incorporate vegetables into your meals. If I’m out at a restaurant I make sure to get a meal that has veggies in it or on the side. Or, if I’m feeling a little hungry, I will grab some celery and ranch to eat as a snack! There are many more ways to add vegetables into your daily meals, and the benefits of doing so are amazing.

I hope you enjoyed these simple and small steps to a healthier you. Keep in mind, that it all takes time. Don’t rush trying to make adjustments and commitments because everything in life takes time to grow. Try to not be so hard on yourself if you mess up, but instead learn and grow from it!
