5 Reasons To Be Excited For Wonder

Wonder has become a classic when it comes to children’s books. Having been on the New York Times Best Seller list for what seems like forever now, Wonder is now becoming a movie! Set to hit theaters the weekend before Thanksgiving, the movie will bring happiness to anyone who goes and sees it! All about being kind to one another, Wonder explores the lives of children as they go through both normal and abnormal occurrences.

We are so excited for Wonder to hit theaters! Here are our top five reasons as why we can’t wait to see it:

1. The Book Is Amazing

If you haven’t read the book yet, you need to get on that as soon as possible! Written by R.J. Palacio, Wonder follows Auggie Pullman (along with other kids in his life) as he starts going to school for the very first time. Having been home schooled his entire life due to medical reasons, Auggie is finally healthy enough to go to a real school. The thing is though, Auggie doesn’t look like everyone else. Auggie being different than the other kids becomes an ongoing theme throughout the novel.

The book has become a major success! It has even resulted in a few spin-off books. With Wonder being such a great book, it’s bound to be a great movie as well!

2. It Has An All-Star Cast

The movie brought in a great all-star cast including that of Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Mandy Patinkin, Daveed Diggs, and Jacob Tremblay. You might remember Jacob Temblay from the Oscar winning movie, Room. Jacob Tremblay has become a star in Hollywood even though he is hardly even a preteen. He plays the star role of Auggie in the movie!

Of course you know Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson. Mandy Patinkin is best known for his role in The Princess Bride. Just as well, Daveed Diggs is a famous musician who was also an original cast member of the hit Broadway musical, Hamilton. All of these actors help bring the world of Auggie Pullman to life and will sure make the movie just that much greater!

3. Kids Drive The Movie Forward

While the seasoned pro actors might give some to the movie, it’s the kids who truly make this movie something to look forward to! While adults are a major aspect of Wonder, it really is a movie about the kids. While the Wonder novel follows Auggie, readers also get to see things from the point of view of his friends and his sister. The kids drive the movie forward in this one for sure!

While it’s great to have some famous actors in the mix, audiences will get to see a brand new batch of young actors and actresses in a movie that truly is all about the world of kids! That’s what we are truly excited to see!

4. It Teaches Kindness

Wonder is all about kindness. “Choose Kind” is the moral of the story and that’s not hidden, not even in the beginning. The main purpose of this story is to pick kindness over anything else. Kindness is so important to the story, that there’s even a Wonder app that will give you a quote of kindness every morning to start your day off right! With kindness being a major note of importance, the movie is sure to put a smile on your face.

The movie will make you cry though, but while there are sad moments, the movie is sure to also be beautiful and happy. You will take a lot from this movie as it never neglects to point towards the importance of kindness.

5. You’ll Want To Be Best Friends With Auggie Pullman

Auggie Pullman’s life is one that you will instantly be sucked into. The movie is sure to show off his world: the good, the bad, and the in-between. Either way though, you’ll want to be part of Auggie’s world. The character of Auggie is what makes the story so incredibly great and soon, his story will be hitting the big screen.

While everyone in Wonder is awesome, it truly is Auggie (as a person, not his circumstances) who makes the story truly great!

Wonder hits theaters on November 17th! Make sure to check it out then!
