If you love a good mystery story then Murder on the Orient Express is the movie for you! This thrilling film will have you on the edge of your seat and I would highly recommend that you all see it while it’s still in theaters. The story follows a group of strangers that all come from completely different backgrounds. There’s a missionary (Penelope Cruz), a widow (Michelle Pfeiffer), a doctor (Leslie Odom Jr.) and many others. When one of the passengers on the Orient Express is mysteriously murdered, it’s up to detective Hercule Poirot (Kenneth Branagh) to solve the case and save everyone aboard. Everyone’s a suspect and no one is safe from the evil aboard the train. Here are 5 things that you didn’t know about the filming of Murder on the Orient Express, in theaters on November 10th!
1. Murder on the Orient Express was a Novel Before it Became a Movie
The novel was written by Agatha Christie in 1934 and if you have time, I would recommend that you read the book before seeing the movie.
2. Angelina Jolie was Originally Attached to the Role of Mrs. Hubbard
I couldn’t imagine anyone other than Michelle Pfeiffer playing the role of Mrs. Hubbard, but I am curious as to how Angelina Jolie would’ve portrayed the role. Jolie was initially supposed to star in the film, but after she dropped out, Pfeiffer was given this unforgettable role.
Murder on the Orient Express is the Third Film that Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz have Collaborated in
The other two films that Depp and Cruz have starred in together are Blow and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
4. Kenneth Branagh, Who Plays Hercule Poirot is also the Director of the Movie
Additionally, Branagh was also the director of Thor in 2011 and Cinderella in 2015.
5. Many of the Extras in the Film are Kenneth Branagh’s Close Friends
Think of how cool it would be to have Branagh as a friend!
Make sure you see all of the deceit, mystery and suspense first-hand. Murder on the Orient Express is in theaters now!
