With all this crazy weather and sickness going around, I DREAD going out and dealing with the snow. Instead, I love to cuddle up in my bed and watch all my favorite TV shows on Netflix! For only $7.99 a month, you can watch an unlimited amount of all your favorite television shows and movies on your computer, television or smartphone. Here are some of my favorite shows to watch on Netflix:
8. The Walking Dead
This show was a huge hit when it premiered in 2010, and remains a hit today. Fans go CRAZY over this show. I’m an avid television watcher, so my timeline on Twitter is full of The Walking Dead lovers. The drama is based on a comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and portrays the life of Rick Grimes, a police officer, and his family in the weeks following a zombie apocalypse. Grimes, his family, and other survivors are constantly on the move trying to keep themselves safe, but as they try to find a safe home, the daily pressure to stay alive weighs heavily on everybody. YES, it’s so good! This is the perfect show for everyone who loves to be on the edge of their seat!
If you’re like me, you love shows with characters who have alter egos! If you’ve never watched this show, meet Dexter Morgan, everyone! By day, he’s a blood pattern expert for the Miami police department. By night, he’s a serial killer who only kills people who, to him, are guilty of a murderous crime. The one thing I love about this show is that it’s so smooth and easy to watch (minus all the blood). The episodes connect very well so you never get lost. Enjoy!
6. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
Let’s be real, who doesn’t love Law & Order: SVU? My friends and I LOVE this show and the fact that it’s on Netflix is a huge plus. For those of you who’ve never watched this version of Law & Order, the plot is centered around detectives who are part of the Special Victims Unit in New York, hence the title. They investigate crimes against vulnerable clients where they most likely will deal with rape and assault. Not only is this show amazing, but the actors in the show are amazing as well. I mean, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni kill it EVERY episode!
5. Gossip Girl
Having a girl’s night?! Here’s the perfect show. To be honest, it takes a while for the show to get rolling, but by the middle of the second episode, you’ll be so hooked you won’t be able to stop watching. Thank God for Netflix! This chick flick show focuses on prep school graduates in New York who are ready to start their lives in college. The show has so many twists and turns and scandals that you’ll never be able to find out who the real “gossip girl” is!
If you’ve never watched this show before, now is the perfect time to get caught up, because Glee is on their last final season, but you can catch them all on Netflix. The show is about a group of high school outcasts who come together through music to form a glee (singing) club. The club is formed in an attempt to change the opinions of their peers at school who claim singing is for nerds and weirdos. The different characters in the show remind me of the movie The Breakfast Club. We have a know-it-all, a jock, a cheerleader, a goth, a criminal, and a diva. For those of you who love singing and love musicals, this show is definitely for you!
3. Pretty Little Liars
Here’s another show that you and your best friends could watch during girl’s night! I’m pretty sure every girl either watches or has heard of this show. A long time ago, when Pretty Little Liars was added to Netflix, my timeline on Twitter went crazy! I’ve been a faithful watcher since the show first premiered, so I was definitely one of those girls who went crazy when it got added to Netflix. Not to mention, the guys in this show are HOT. For those of you who have never seen the show, it’s about four teenage girls who have gone through a terrible tragedy, one of the girls in their “clique” has gone missing, and ultimately ended up dead. While the girls try to grieve and cope with their best friend passing away, they receive threatening text messages from an anonymous person named “A”. Throughout the show, the girls try to find out who “A” is, all while trying to find out who they are individually and how to move on without their best friend.
2. Orange Is the New Black
Since this show is only on Netflix, it seems fitting that you should watch it! You’ve probably heard of it since it’s hugely popular. The show is centered around Piper Chapman, who is newly engaged to her husband, Larry. Unfortunately, Piper is going to jail for the first time in her life. Piper was convicted after being involved drugs with her then-girlfriend, Alex Vause, who has been sentenced to the same jail. As the show goes on, you will see how Piper deals with jail and learn about the other prisoners. One good thing about this show is that since it’s only made for Netflix, you never have to wait a week for a new episode. One downfall to this is that you have to wait forever for a new season…bummer!
This show is my absolute favorite show on television right now, so I highly recommend that you catch up on Netflix! This show definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. Every episode packs a punch and leaves your jaw on the floor at the end of each episode. Olivia Pope, who is a “fixer” in Washington, D.C.. helps high-profile senators and politicians with their problems and makes them go away. Before owning her own firm, Olivia worked at the White House, but resigned because she was having a secret affair with the President, Fitzgerald Grant. Throughout the show, you will see Olivia fixing problems and the steamy affair between Olivia and Fitz. Another reason to watch this show is because Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia Pope, kills it every episode! I promise you’ll get hooked on this show!
HAPPY BINGE WATCHING!
