Actress Britt Robertson has been casted to play the role of Katie Kampenfelt in director Allison Burnett’s Undiscovered Gyrl. This movie, which is currently being filmed, is an indie drama based off of Burnett’s novel of the same title.
The novel was originally published in 2009 and focuses on Katie, an emotionally-troubled high school graduate who decides to take a year off before college. During this time she creates a blog while her life begins to spiral out of control.
Robertson’s film “The First Time” with costar Dylan O’Brien recently hit select theaters. She is also known for being on CW’s “Life Unexpected” and “The Secret Circle.” In addition to “Undiscovered Gyrl,” Robertson is also working on a film called “The Delivery Man” with Vince Vaughn.
We’re really excited to see this novel hit the big screen. It’ll be interesting to see how Robertson portrays the role of Katie, who is described as “beautiful, wild, funny and lost.” We know she’ll do an amazing job like she does with any role she takes on.
