Capitol Couture’s Final Release
We’ve seen the fashion from Katniss Everdeen and Effie Trinket evolve into a real-world fashion line by Capitol Couture over the years. Now, the final issue is being released. Titled Ultima Volatus (“Final Flight”), the issue features a collaboration with fashion icon/creative director Susanne Bartsch, famed photographer Steven Klein and television host and supermodel Hannah Davis.
From the beginning, Capitol Couture, The Hunger Games’ in-world fashion magazine, has captivated fans with beautiful images, editorial detailing real-world couture (through the lens of the film’s world) and exclusive content from The Capitol. Blurring the lines between the fictional and the factual, the Capitol Couture brand has amassed a record-setting following on its native Tumblr platform, catching the attention of major brands.
Today’s final issue, launched today by Lionsgate and Samsung, expands its editorial focus to cover the Revolution happening throughout Panem and introduces the first of three exclusive revolution looks. The first look is heavily influenced by the motion and fluidity of changing times, a
s well as waving flags, resembling the mockingjay emblazoned flag used in anti-Capitol propaganda. More looks will be revealed over the next two weeks, drawing from similar revolutionary themes of the people living in Panem.
Capitol Couture continues to embody the revolutionary essence that carries throughout the Hunger Games series. Time only awaits before we see what the final fashions for the Mockingjay Part 2 movie will hold.
