This pesto recipe is a new favorite of mine. It’s easy to make and it’s delicious! You’d be surprised at the number of sugars and extra ingredients are in a pre-made sauce. This pesto sauce is an easy way to avoid all those ingredients.
Making your own sauce may seem a little intimidating, but it’s not. It’s so easy, you’ll want to make pesto all the time! I really have been trying to stray from ingredients that are unnecessary. Plus, I find it so much more satisfying to make my own food. I like the comfort of knowing exactly what’s in it.
1 cup of basil
3 cloves of garlic
1/3 cup of olive oil
1/3 cup of pine nuts
1/2 cup of Parmesan
HOW TO MAKE PESTO:
Second, blend a little.
Drizzle in the olive oil and blend again.
Pour the pesto over pasta and enjoy!
Pesto is the perfect dressing for tuna, chicken, and pasta salads. It can also add tremendous flavor when mixed into rice, mashed potatoes, or dolloped onto hot vegetables. Spreading a bit of it onto bread before layering your sandwich will add a bit of excitement and to any old standard sandwich.
