It appears that the flower crown has finally become a bona fide trend. The hair accessory has appeared on the runways and all over fashion magazines. There are a lot of cool trends right now, but this one is definitely becoming more pronounced especially due to its revamping by the controversial singer and fashion inspiration, Lana Del Rey.
The flower child-esque accessory has been a mainstay during music festivals ever since the trend’s birth in the late 1960’s. This year they were seen everywhere at the Coachella music festival including on the likes of Katy Perry and Vanessa Hudgens.
The look goes well with messy waves for a Coachella boho chic look or soft curls for a Lana Del Rey old Hollywood romantic look. One could be worn with a sweet lacy dress or to counterbalance cut-off shorts and a vintage tee. They are very soft, but make any look stand out from the crowd.
The great thing about these is that you can purchase them at many different places or even make one for yourself. The flower crown might be a little too editorial for some, but I am hooked!
Here are a few that are available to purchase. Some are more expensive, while some are a little cheaper.
(Hair accessories above are from clockwise NastyGal, Freepeople, Freepeople, and Urbanoutfitters)
Making your own is easy and inexpensive to do also. There are a lot of great YouTube tutorials online like this one for example here.
