Everything We Know About Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel So Far #CaptainMarvel

Marvel Studios prepares to add a new face to their Cinematic Universe. We’ve got the latest scoop on Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel!

Captain Marvel, sometimes known as Ms. Marvel, is Major Carol Danvers. According to the comics, Carol Danvers joined the Air Force which eventually led to her meeting Nick Fury from S.H.I.E.L.D. She winds up in a relationship with a Kree warrior named Mar-Vell also known as Captain Marvel. A villain captures Carol to get to Captain Marvel and, after a fight, there’s an explosion that leads to her becoming part Kree. She also gains abilities that make her incredibly powerful. She has super strength and speed, can project and absorb energy, and she can fly!

Marvel Studios recently announced that it’s started production on Captain Marvel. So who will be playing Carol Danvers? Brie Larson! And now that she’s joined the Marvel family, Brie’s currently in prep-mode for the upcoming film. She headed to Nevada’s Nellis Air Force Base to learn more about life in the Air Force and met up with Brigadier General Jeannie Leavitt, 57th Wing Commander (right).

Captain Marvel is an origin story for Carol Danvers. The film takes us back to the 90s when she first became Captain Marvel and leads up to a war between two alien races. Captain Marvel will have direct ties to Guardians of the Galaxy because of Carol’s connection to the Kree. It also incorporates other important aspects of today’s MCU. This is great news for fans of certain characters. Because Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. are involved, and because it takes place in the 90s, this means Agent Coulson will be alive and well!

There’s so much more to come. For now, get excited because Captain Marvel is finally in production and will premiere next year.

Captain Marvel hits theaters in 2019!
