Fall Home Decor Tips & Tricks

Gold pumpkin 1It’s that time of year ago ~ the smell of pumpkins, the crisp cool mornings, falling leaves, pumpkin patches, hay bales rides, caramel apples and apple cider! It’s Fall!!!  Time to decorate your home with all things orange, red, green, yellow, or gold!  I love to decorate for the season and I have to say Fall is one of my favorite times of the year.  Break out the cinnamon, pumpkin, and candy corn candles ladies and let’s get to decorating and making your home smell amazing!

First off, if you have fireplace mantle, here are some ideas to “fall” it up a bit!  I love owls, lots of pumpkins, burlap, candles and flowers! Anything with fall colors and it will look amazing! I also used a black crow perched neatly on top of the pumpkins!  Try using green split peas to fill your vase full of flowers.  Use candles and more pumpkins if you are looking for an easy way to decorate your coffee table!

I love this wicker basket with the attached chalkboard sign for the front door!  The perfect welcoming piece! If you are into wreaths, as I am, try dressing up a simple burlap one with garland and metal adornments.

Don’t forget about your guest bathroom!  A yummy pumpkin smelling soap is perfect for your guests to use!  I love using a pieces that are maybe not as traditional and making them work; like this turquoise vase that I filled with fall foliage! A large hurricane filled with pumpkins is a nice addition too!

Curl appeal is also important! The front porch is the first place people see when coming to visit; so make it inviting!  I used this old trellis for all seasons, changing up the decor as I go. And in the next few weeks when I visit the pumpkin patch, there will be loads of real pumpkins ~ many shapes, colors, and sizes ~ along with mums and cornstalks that will be added!

Hello! I was born and raised in a small Kansas town but have always loved the city and all that it has to offer! I love to travel, I love fashion, and I love to eat...and write about it! My small town life growing up has definitely shaped who I am today and as I grow older, I am starting to appreciate that more and more. When I am not writing or at my day job, I am most likely baking, running, spending time at the local farmers market, or hitting up a good happy hour! I am currently in Nursing school and will graduate in 2017, I love helping people!! I am obsessed with taking pictures that aren't conventional and sharing them with the world. My family and friends mean the world to me and I cherish each second I spend with them. I currently have my own blog titled "Dirt Roads ~ High Heels" http://thedirtroadshighheels@blogspot.com
