Mirror work is a really effective technique as long as you’re consistent with it. It can seem a bit weird at first, but stick with it for a few weeks and watch the difference it makes. All you need is yourself and mirror. You simply look into your eyes and say nice things to yourself, like ‘I love you’. There are books on this if you’d like even more instruction, but it really works!
Make affirmations each day. Say positive things, even if you don’t feel like they are true yet. If you like, you can even make yourself sticky notes and dot them around the house.
Take Care Of Yourself
Taking care of yourself is so important. Pampering yourself, treating yourself, and knowing that you’re worth all of it is essential. Take long baths. Treat yourself to a lovely body product. Never feel bad for doing it!
Watch Your Language
This doesn’t mean swearing and things like that, but it does mean you need to watch the way you talk about yourself. Do you always talk about yourself negatively to others? Stop! Change the negative words to positive words. Many of us do this without realizing it. Not only that, change the way you think in your head. If you look in the mirror and call yourself names, this is just as bad! Notice it and change it. It’ll take time, but it’ll be worth it.
Figure Out Who You Really Are
Don’t try to be anybody else. Take time to yourself to figure out who you really are. Take yourself out, read lots of books. Explore your interests and passions. It’ll make such a huge difference to your life.
Find Ways To Raise Your Self Esteem
Find ways to raise your self esteem. Really pay attention to compliments others pay you. Work with a therapist or life coach. If it really comes down to it, you can also turn to things like surgery to help. This should be a last resort, but it can change your life if you’re serious about it and mentally healthy. Maybe have a consultation with a facial cosmetic surgeon and see how you feel. Never feel pressured to go through with anything. Loving yourself the way you were made is important!
Dress In Clothes You Love
Dressing in clothes you really love will change the way you feel about yourself on a daily basis. They really do affect our attitudes and moods, so make an effort to dress in clothes you adore. Don’t buy something if you don’t love it!
