Finding the Right Colors for YOU
Have you ever taken an art class where the teacher drone on and on about the aspects of colors, the shades, and so forth? There’s a reason they do and it’s because finding the right colors to synchronize make the art stands out more. Of course, that doesn’t mean you can’t go crazy either, but if you are in search for the right colors of seasons or colors that match you, then this article is for you!
Find out about yourself, first. Do you mind wearing any kind of colors or is there a specific type that you just can’t stand? Maybe you don’t like a striped shirt, but like a galaxy leggings. Finding out what you like is the first thing before you decide on other themes.
Matching with seasons. If you’re searching for inspiration of colors, here’s the seasons to be inspired from. A lot of people tend to go with seasons because it’s easy. Plaids and nice warm colors of red, orange, and yellow are great in the autumn along with dark colors. Winter’s for the family of white, black, and grey, but who say you can’t stock up on Christmas colors either? Spring is the lovely vibrant colors and summer is kicking off with light and matching beach colors.
The color wheel. If you aren’t already familiar with it, you can start getting familiar with it. The color wheel essentially lists the main six colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. There are all kind of colors in between each main one, such as red orange or teal. Primary (red, yellow, blue), secondary (orange, green, purple), and tertiary colors (the in-between) can help you see the different type of colors and their divisions. Two type of color schemes you can take on are analogous colors (picking three colors side by side) or complementary colors (colors across from each other) which create a perfect harmony.
Does colors matter? Yes, they do! They show who you are. Vibrant colors and neons tend to show an outgoing people who aren’t afraid to be them while cooler colors like blue represent the calmer and more thoughtful people. But they don’t just represent personality; they show off the artistic you! Everyone is an artist in their own ways, and finding your own style by looking at colors and trends will help you know what you want to be.
Artists tend to get wild in their creations, so don’t be afraid to experiment as well! What’s the fun without throwing in some new color in your wardrobe? You’ll be surprised by how easily the colors match and fit on you.
