Whether you’re a student, or work all day- you might not have the time to spend over an hour at the gym. Here are a few tips that can help you get the most out of your workout, even if it’s only 30 minutes long.
- Eat or Drink Protein Eating protein in bar form or drinking a whey or soy protein shake before and after you workout will promote muscle growth during your strength and cardio workouts.
- Stay Hydrated Staying hydrated by drinking water before, during, and after your workout is also very important! In addition to water’s benefits to your health (natural cleanser, prevents breakouts, etc) water will keep your muscles hydrated so they can grow! Water takes a few hours to absorb into your body, so drinking before is just as important as during and after!
- Sleep Obviously, you’re not sleeping while working out, but getting a good amount of sleep the day before you workout is another important factor in your workout. When you don’t get enough sleep, your body stresses, and when your body stresses, you tend to retain more weight.
- Go Slowly When doing strength training, take it easy! Don’t go to fast, lift and lower to a five-second count in either direction for maximum results.
