Dieting and regular exercise can seem tedious, but if you have some motivation or a goal, it can make it a lot easier.
–Have a Buddy: Having a buddy while working out at the gym and shopping for healthy food options makes it so much more fun and easy! It can be anyone, your sister, your mom, anyone who’s willing to work with you!
–Read Up: Check out food blogs and find fun healthy recipes to cook with your buddy or by yourself. You’ll be surprised how much you can learn from others!
–Set Goals: Set goals for yourself, long and short term goals mixed are best. Focus on something new each week: for instance “I want to eat a fruit or vegetable with each meal for a week.” Set new goals each week while building on your old goals. Also have a long term goal for yourself, i.e. “I want to fit into my skinny jeans without sucking my stomach in when I’m done.”
–Take Photos: Take a full body shot every week to keep track of your progress, when you look at yourself through your eyes every day you may not see progress unless it’s through the eyes of a camera.
–Reflect & Treat Yourself: At the end of each week, reflect on your progress by taking a photo, weighing yourself. Realize that you are working hard for these results, so treat yourself! Get a manicure with a friend, go to the movies, or browse the mall for clothes you hope to fit into once you reach your goal!
