Eating a balanced breakfast is a great way to get the day started. Skipping breakfast can lead to burnout later in the day, making you more prone to consume more calories during snack or lunch time. Have a balanced meal for breakfast—it doesn’t have to be a huge meal, just something to get your day moving in the right direction.
Not eating before workouts
You’ll be burning calories at the gym but you need something to fuel your energy beforehand. Have some fruit, like grapes or a banana, to get a quick energy boost before working out.
Not eating after workouts
You’ve just burned 500 calories at the gym and your muscles are aching from all that hard work you put in. Now it’s time to refuel those muscles. Have some protein and carbs—maybe some yogurt or nuts or even a protein shake—to give your body what it needs to repair your muscles after that intense workout session.
Eating whatever you want
Just because you workout doesn’t mean you can eat whatever you want. Diet is just as important as exercise. It’s okay to indulge occasionally but you should strive for a balanced, clean diet of whole foods. Check to make sure you’re not eating processed foods or foods high in sodium, sugar and fat.
Consuming too much or not enough
