Planting Flowers for Spring
After a long, cold winter it is hard for me to not get excited for spring. The flowers and leaves are starting to bloom and everything looks beautiful. Something about the bright colors all mixed together just puts a smile on my face! All of this really got me inspired to plant my own flowers for my house! I am by no means a professional when it comes to planting, but I often do a random mix of different types of flowers because I like that look. From hanging baskets to front porch pretties, below are some recent pots I planted. I used flowers such as Techno Heat Violets, Cherry Red Superbells, Tricolor Perilla for height in my larger planters, Sun Patients in Salmon and Pink Flash, Orange Tuberous Begonias, and Surfinia Wild Plum. I just strolled through the nursery and picked out the colors I loved and styles that I thought would look good together. It’s all up to you how to arrange the flowers. I just laid them all out and saw what looked good and went from there. I also used a good potting soil mix and made sure to water them regularly. (Potted plants can dry out quickly, so make sure they don’t get thirsty. This way, they will stay vibrant all spring and summer long!) Take a look at some of the flowers I planted, maybe it will inspire you to go out and plant your own flowers! I encourage you to the nursery and walk around, even if you do not know what you want to plant. With all of the different types of flowers, colors, and sizes, I am sure you will find something that is perfect for you!
