From the 1800s to 2012: Bringing Back Peplum

Fashion trends are funny.  What some may feel are the “hottest, newest trends,” the majority of these were simply brought back from past years.  This definitely goes for the peplum look that has returned back onto runways and our closets. Peplum skirts, dresses and tops originated back in the 1800s, receiving high praise for the instant hourglass figure they give you because of the stylish overskirt.  Ever since then this look has been seen time and time again – and it popped up just in time for 2012.

If you know you can rock this style or you’re just looking to try something that’s new (or back in style), peplum is definitely the way to go.  Happy Shopping!
