I’m a former teacher with a love for good books.  I’m all for anything that inspires people to read, and quite frankly, there’s nothing like curling up with a good book on a frigid night.  I’m a sucker for fun fantasy novels to help transport me to another world.  One of my favorite reads this year has been Frostblood, Elly Blake’s debut novel.

This book is a page turner!  With a strong heroine (hello feminism!), exciting plot twists, characters you can’t help but fall in love with, and an exquisitely imagined world, this book is a magical number you won’t be able to put down.  At least I know I couldn’t.

About the Author

Elly Blake loves fairy tales, old houses, and owls. After earning a degree in English literature, she held a series of seemingly random jobs, including project manager, customs clerk, graphic designer, and reporter for a local business magazine before finally landing on her current job as a library assistant. She lives in Southwestern Ontario with her husband, kids, and a Siberian Husky mix that definitely shows frostblood tendencies.
