It’s almost time to celebrate the independence of our spectacular nation! That means fireworks, fabulous food, friends, family and fun in the sun! It’s one of the most exciting days of the year – but you may not be as excited to shed your clothes and lounge around in a bikini.
There’s no need to cancel your plans or spend the day covered up. I’ve got some great tips that will make you confident to show off your hot bikini bod and get that swimsuit body ready for the 4th!
You already know to avoid salt and bubbly beverages before the big beach or pool day, I don’t have to tell you that. But you may think that munching on veggies that are super low-cal and fill you up is a good idea. WRONG! Vegetables like kale, brussels sprouts, cauliflower and broccoli are super high in fiber and can lead to a very bloated belly.
You can, however, eat certain foods to beat the bloat. Fill up on diuretic foods like asparagus, watermelon, artichokes, tomatoes or sip on some green tea. You can also finish off a heavy meal with some pineapple or yogurt to help your food digest better.
While you’re enjoying your bloat-busting foods, eat slowly. Your food isn’t going anywhere! Eating too quickly can cause you to swallow air that will be trapped in your digestive system. Hellllllllllo tummy full of air.
Celeb personal trainer Dalton Wong suggests taking an Epsom salt bath. Not only is it super relaxing, soaking in a hot bath with two cups of Epsom salt will pull water out of your body. But he definitely does not advise doing it on a regular basis.
And finally, the most obvious way to a flat tummy, is to get active and sweaty! Sweat is, you guessed it, excess water being eliminated from your body! If you want to get rid of excess bloating, get your cardio on!
