What do you do first when you’re at the gym? I always run first because it gets me warmed up. I thought that was what you’re supposed to do. But I read something on Marie Claire’s site that tells me otherwise.
Apparently strength-training before you do cardiovascular work is best. This is best because it takes the body about 15 minutes to warm up and start burning fat. Therefore, if you ride a bike or run for 30 minutes, you’re really only burning fat the last 15 minutes.
That’s where lifting comes in. If you lift before you do cardio, your body gets warmed up and is ready to burn fat by the time you run or bike. Then, you’ll get the best fat-burning results.
Good luck at the gym!
