Get Your Handbag Winter Ready + A Giveaway

winterhandbagricola3I am sure many of you are like me and as the seasons change, so do the contents of your handbags.  Over the last few weeks I have really been winterizing my handbag.  By this I mean, I have been swapping out items from summer and fall for more winter-ready products.  This is something many of us over look.  I thought it would be helpful to break it down to the 5 most important winter ready items you need.

Here are my Top 5 Products that are essential for your winter handbag.

WinterHandbagEssentials1. Cough Drops

No one wants to be that person hacking up a storm at the grocery store or coughing throughout an entire movie.  But, its pretty much inevitable that throughout the cold winter months a cough will find its way to you.  That’s why cough drops are my number one winter essential item for your handbag.

My favorites are Ricola.  I have been using them for years and can always count on them to sooth my throat and control my cough.  I am excited to tell you that they have also added a new product to the Ricola line, Extra Strength.  These cough drops are seriously effective and the delicious herb flavor makes me want to keep popping them in my mouth.

2.  Scarves

I love adding scarves to my handbag during the winter. There is something about putting a scarf around my neck that completely warms me up.  Okay, well depending on the temperature it may not completely warm me up ;), but it sure does help.

For me, it is always great to have accessories easily accessible.  Not only do scarves keep me warm, but they can also be a fashion statement.  There are so many ways to wear them, that they can really bring an outfit together.

3.  Hand Sanitizer
So this one you might have in your purse year round, but it is essential that you make sure it is plentiful during the winter months.  There are so many germs going around that for me I feel like I am constantly squirting hand sanitizer.  Out of all of the items in your winter handbag, this is the one I predict you will share the most.

4. Lotion

I love keeping travel size bottles of lotion in my winter handbag.  There are so many great options to pick up during the winter months.  There are always new scents and fun bottle shapes.  You can also score some really great deals on lotion as it is usually on sale for stocking stuffers.

5. Chap Stick

I know I’m not the only one who gets super dry lips.  I hate that uncomfortable feeling when your lips are so chapped that they hurt.  That is why when its winter I never leave the house with out my chap stick.
