Let’s talk about Holiday Decorating!  If you are like me, I love love love to decorate for the Holiday’s!  It makes a home so cozy and festive and really gets a person into the Holiday Spirit!  It also helps to constantly be listening to Holiday Music 😉  Here are some tips and tricks to decorate this season and for the years to come!  I like to combine different patterns, textures, and colors!  Red and green are a must but as you will notice, I have a black Christmas tree which I bought on clearance two years ago…although you can still find it at Walmart and it’s pre-lit and gorgeous! Simple black and silver ornaments with a bright turquoise bird perched on the top!

Let’s talk about the FIREPLACE! The one area of my home that I always change out season to season and make sure it’s fully stocked of décor!  You can’t have too much! Remember to space things by height, color, and size and your guests will be wow’d at how fabulous your mantel looks!  Dress up your coffee table by adding festive ornaments and paint on old window with chalk paint and use your own talents to wish everyone Happy Holidays!  I love my Scentsy countdown to Christmas warmer too!  And I can’t forget the live wreath!  Spritz with water every few days for that lovely pine smell!  I also have about 12 stockings to fill, so I line them down the stairs to the basement…my mantle isn’t quite big enough for all of them!

And don’t forget the infamous front porch!  I love to use lighted trees on either side of the door that power on at dusk and leave a beautiful ambiance throughout the night!  The cute little doggie added a nice touch too!!

Hello! I was born and raised in a small Kansas town but have always loved the city and all that it has to offer! I love to travel, I love fashion, and I love to eat...and write about it! My small town life growing up has definitely shaped who I am today and as I grow older, I am starting to appreciate that more and more. When I am not writing or at my day job, I am most likely baking, running, spending time at the local farmers market, or hitting up a good happy hour! I am currently in Nursing school and will graduate in 2017, I love helping people!! I am obsessed with taking pictures that aren't conventional and sharing them with the world. My family and friends mean the world to me and I cherish each second I spend with them. I currently have my own blog titled "Dirt Roads ~ High Heels" http://thedirtroadshighheels@blogspot.com
