Kansas City Fashion Week Runway Show Recap

The Thursday night runway show at Kansas City Fashion Week was definitely one to be remembered.  I absolutely loved the variety that I saw between designers.  Here’s a recap of some of my favorite designers and styles from the second night of Kansas City Fashion Week!

Roger Figueroa

Although this collection was made up mostly of grays and blacks, the interesting shapes and loose-fitting style of the garments made them truly unique and bold.  This was a great first collection to start the show off with.

Wiki Wang

I was definitely obsessed with this collection, as it was filled with a variety of cute dresses, each with their own unique detail.  From embroidery to bell sleeves, these styles were beautiful and fun for spring and summer.

Amanda Casarez

This collection featured many Asian inspired pieces and was filled with detailed belts and vibrant colors.  I especially loved the glitter filled makeup that each model was given, as it complemented the clothes very nicely.  Overall, this collection utilized minimalistic aspects in the clothes, but still packed a strong punch on the runway.

Madyssen Jean

Even though she’s only 18 years old, Jean definitely impressed the audience.  Many of the pieces in her collection featured beautiful phrases stitched onto the clothing that were different from anything I’d ever seen.  Sayings like “all I wanted was to love and be loved” added an amazing and personal touch to each piece.

Lee Jeans

I have always been a fan of this brand and their show definitely didn’t disappoint.  This collection was filled with scarves, oversized jackets and of course, denim.  The simplicity of the clothes spoke for itself and I could definitely see myself wearing each of these pieces.

Noelle Designs

A collection made up entirely of black and white with a few gold accents may be simple, but these clothes were very elegant.  I was very impressed by this designer, as the clothes were stunningly gorgeous.

Crystal Brakhage Designs

This collection was filled with metallic-looking fabric, bold cutouts and leather and some of the pieces gave me punk rock inspired vibes.  From long, sophisticated dresses to leather crop tops, these edgy pieces truly wowed the audience.

More Than Just Figleaves + Erin Paige

Every piece in this collection was made from up-cycled material and I really loved it.  The bold jewelry that was incorporated into each look complemented the clothes very nicely and this unique collection ended the show on a high note.

Kansas City Fashion Week was such an awesome experience and I can’t wait to incorporate some of the amazing pieces I saw into my wardrobe! To find out more check out KCfashionweek.com.
