You know how you see the bathrooms on HGTV and they look like a dream? Well, you too can have your dream bathroom. It doesn’t have to be only for the pros! When our house was built, every room was “tan”… and that was a no-go for me! The first room I took on to change was the Guest Bath!! It’s a room you hardly use, but when you have guests over, they do! So, I had to make it perfect for them! I love to decorate and I love to use color. So one day, I popped into Sherwin Williams after watching an episode of HGTV Dream Home which happened to feature a beach house…aka my future home :). The colors they used were amazing, so, of course, that’s the color I chose! It’s bright, cheery, and inviting… it’s coral! I had the guest bath painted and decorated in one day… boy, was that a surprise when the husband got home! But, he knows that is my thing, so he rolls with it!
I started with the vibrant color I mentioned! I also painted the “oak” cabinet a dark brown… ooh la la! Make sure to always have a good soap and lotion handy for your guests!
The décor ~ I used a lovely turquoise vase and filled in with flowers, a Scentsy warmer to keep it smelling fresh, and cute branch wreath. I like BIG decorations, so although this vase takes up a large area of the sink, it was perfect.
A good hand towel that will last. I fell in love with this beachy towel that I found at Anthropology which contains coral and turquoise combined. It was a bit more than I usually spend on just a towel, but when you LOVE something, you buy it! I used a vase on the back of the commode filled with a candle, sand, and shells to keep the beach feel going.
A set of three mirrors going up the wall is a good way to make the room appear larger.
Leave no wall untouched!! That’s my motto! I loved these metal leaf frames and used them in the last space I had to “spruce” it up a bit more! I tied in the leaf frames by using leaf shower curtain holders which are green and also beachy looking! I always mix colors in any room, so don’t be afraid to try it! Your guests will thank you!
