MTV has announced that their popular hit show “Jersey Shore” will not be coming back for a seventh season. The sixth season, which is set to air on Oct 4, will be the final one for Snooki, JWOWW, Sammi, Pauly D, Vinny, Ronnie, Deena and Mike.
After five extremely successful seasons (and a sixth one that is sure to be just as big of a hit), MTV decided that it was time to end it. Now that the cast is out doing new things and moving forward with their life, they feel that this might be a good decision. Snooki, for instance, just gave birth and is starting a whole new chapter of her life as a mother.
Chris Linn, MTV’s executive vice president of programing, told Entertainment Weekly: “We’ve always said we’d do the show for as long as it made sense. We noticed what was going on in their lives, with Nicole (Snooki) having her baby, the relationships, etc. it felt like the right time to bring it to a close and end on a high note.”
He went on to say that the ending of the show is very bittersweet for the cast. This show ultimately changed their lives in ways they probably never thought possible. They went from being normal, ordinary people who liked to hang out at the Jersey shore to household names almost overnight.
Although we’re saddened by the news, we’re still really excited to watch the new season. Will you be watching season six of “Jersey Shore?” How do you feel about the cancelation? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to share your favorite “Jersey Shore” memories with us!
