On the Go Snack Ideas – Kansas City TV Segment

by Sarah Ruhlman

Spring is in the air and you know that means that people’s busy schedules get even busier.  From taking an extra lap around the track, fitting in a doubles game or outdoor yoga session to being the mini-van magician and schedule pick ups from T-ball to miniature golf!  I had so much fun on Fox 4 Kansas City sharing snack ideas that not only taste great, but make life easier.

MadeGood- Granola Minis, and Crispy Squares

MadeGood has a line of granola bars, minis, and crispy squares and these come in a variety of flavors including chocolate chip, chocolate banana, vanilla, strawberry and mixed berry.

These snacks are great for on-the-go with their easy packaging and “small bites” sizing. Each bar contains one whole serving of vegetables including spinach, carrots and broccoli! They’re free from the top 8 allergens, are vegan, organic, gluten-free and non-gmo. And they taste great!

Nourish Bowls

These are two incredible products for the ‘on the go’ healthy lifestyle.  First, let’s talk about these Nourish Bowls from Mann Packing. Ready to heat and eat – all the prep work is done.  You simply open the package, add the sauce and microwave for a healthy delicious meal in under 3 minutes.  You can even use the bowls as a base for your meal.   Imagine this with a piece of salmon or grilled chicken you picked up from the market. These are available in the fresh vegetable section of the supermarket, $3.99 – $4.99

Hummustir:

Everyone likes hummus and sometimes, it’s just not convenient to make it from scratch.  I have the next best thing – hummustir. Everything you need is in this cute package – just stir it up.  It’s your on the go, super convenient snack choice that’s fresh on demand. No preservatives, low in calories and only 5 ingredients! Available from Amazon.com.

Sugar Snap Peas

These ready to eat, stringless Sugar Snack Peas are a great way to Skip the Chip.  Pack these bags for car trips, with your lunch for the afternoon slump or in your kiddos lunch box.  How great are they with this Hummus too.  Fresh, convenient and great when you eat them naked like this or add them to salads for extra crunch.  Retail for an 8 oz bag is $2.99.

I hope you have a wonderful spring and try some of these great snacks. Check out more of my TV segments to get the scoop on everything from snacks + fitness to fashion + entertainment and all thats in between.
