Outfit Ideas For Vacation

Needing a little style inspiration this summer? How about outfit ideas for vacation? Then why not dress as trendy as your favorite summer hot spots. Draw inspiration form the culture, architecture, and aesthetics of the best warm weathered locations.

Still need some help? Do what everyone should do over summer – relax, I did all the work for you. I picked five inspirational locations and styled seven amazing outfits.  So enjoy these fun ensembles, and hopefully you can be inspired to create your own fun summer looks.

The first summer look is inspired by gorgeous, tropical, colorful, Hawaii. When styling for this location I was inspired by the tropical flora, underwater scenery, flowing waterfalls, and breath taking sunsets. My first look, on the right, is all about the color and well known tropical print one thinks of when they think Hawaii. But instead of an embarrassing Hawaiian shirt you are ashamed to admit your dad owns (and wore last summer) you can wear it in a way that is young and fun. I found this tropical print bralet from Topshop.

It is a popular form that we see trending this summer, and in this bold print, you can wear tropical just right. Pair that with an aqua asymmetrically hemmed maxi skirt, with just a touch of skin showing on your midriff and you have a sexy summer outfit. But it wouldn’t be perfect without the right accessories. I found a floral Betsy Johnson necklace, fun stacked rock rings, bright yellow wedges, and a coral fringe clutch to finish the look.

On the left I centered the outfit around the Jeffery Campbell Hawaiian print Litas. With such a bold print all you need is a simple dress, like this cascading layered hot pink one. Finish it off with some fun coral reef inspired rock jewelry in coral and turquoise hues and the men will be screaming, “Aloha Gorgeous!”

Key points: Waterfall hemlines, fun tropical prints, bright colors, and rock inspired jewelry.

Had enough of the humidity? Try some dry heat. Palm springs is known for its sandy landscapes, vintage shopping, and all to necessary pool lounging. For this outfit I paired an antique lace skirt from Nastygal with a flamingo embellished blouse.

The pattern and textures in this outfit, admittedly seem more like something your grandmother would wear, but the length of the skirt (thigh high) and the silhouette of the top keep it young. Add ankle cowboy boots, like these with fun hand painted embellishments, some bright stacked bangles, a neon spiked necklace, dusty rose studs, and Lolita inspired sunglasses in a blush hue.  You will be looking hot in the desert sun with this adorable outfit.

Key points: Mix old and new textures, patterns and lengths, bright accessories make a neutral outfit pop, ankle length boots are hot!

How about a little east coast loving? Lets focus our sights to the fabulous summer vacation site, the Hamptons. Here are two looks that will make you a “Hampton Hottie”. One features neutral shades, while the other showcases bright fun colors. The dress on the left showcases a hot trend this summer, which is crocheted knit tops. The bottom half is a feminine coral color which matches these fun coral wedges from PacSun. Choose either of these two bags: the navy blue Longchamp tote or this city bag in cream, coral, and navy from Zara. And don’t forget the nails with this cleverly titled color from Essie, East Hampton Cottage. On the right is a pastel purple patterned pleated skirt combined with a neon green and teal collared tank. This color combo is bold and fun, so pair it with neutral accessories like this Chanel bag and wedges. These two unique outfits will keep you looking as stylish as your trendiest neighbors in the Hamptons.

Key points: Head to toe neutrals make for a great color palette, but mixing bold colors and patterns is just as fun.

As Will Smith would say, “I’m going to Miami”! So find some inspiration from this hot spot full of spicy flavor, warm nights, and art deco architecture. I picked a royal blue blouse and a sexy hot pink textured mini skirt from Forever 21. Together these bright colors are perfect for day or night.

For that daytime sunshine add some trendy round sunglasses and a fun straw tote – perfect for holding beach goodies. And when the sun goes down add bold jewelry like this thick gold necklace, and bangle (perfectly called the Miami Maven). And lets not forget the shoes! These black studded Litas from Jeffery Campbell add a rock and roll edge to this look while keeping it sexy and young, perfect for the Miami nightlife. Create your own Miami heat in this hot ensemble.

Key Points: Bold colors, sexy silhouettes, and chunky jewelry.

¡Hola Senoritas! The sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and rich Mexican culture of Cabo San Lucas inspire our final look. In this hot, hot weather you are going to want to wear the bear minimum- but resist the urge because there are still public indecency laws in Mexico! (I think) But you can still keep your cool in this hot weather in this fun outfit. This outfit has a fun bustier, which is just the right amount of sexy with bright playful colors that mirror the colors of the Mexican landscape. This tiny top will go perfect with some high-waisted embellished shorts, with, you guessed it, more fun colors in an Aztec inspired diamond pattern. Add some funky metal stacked bracelets to give the colorful look an edge. These white braided sandals from Steve Madden are airy and perfect. And finally a cool yellow canvas backpack completes this look, leaving you looking muy caliente!

Key points: Bright colors, fun patterns, show a little skin-less is more.

Stay inspired fashionistas and have fun styling this summer!!
