Salmon Burger Recipe

This Salmon Burger is a ten-minute meal which can be decorated with an array of toppings for a colorful and healthy dinner or lunch.

Trader Joe’s provides many convenient cooking luxuries. A savory and healthy option is their salmon burger which takes only 10-12 minutes to cook. What makes this recipe so great is that you are able to add in so many of your own preferred flavors. It provides you a flexible structure that guides you through the process of making the meal but allows you to dabble in your personal preference of flavors. You can use whatever type of cheese, greens, and even tomatoes that you like. Moreover, this burger has so much to offer that it can sustain itself without bread or a bun. However, if you choose to use those things you can pick your favorite whether it be whole wheat bread, sourdough, or hawaiian bread buns. The Trader Joe’s box comes with four burgers. So it is a convenient yet tasteful meal able to serve yourself, family, or guests.

Health is at the forefront of our world. This meal caters to those needs that are ever so prominent. It is low in carbs and can have its taste further embellished with toppings such as tomatoes, lettuce, and whatever else you desire. What can also be added to diversify the flavor, even more, is seasoning. The best way to go about that endeavor is to coat the pan you are cooking with, in olive oil, and sprinkle your seasoning in it and move your burger about the pan so that it can absorb what you’ve added. Of course, you can use other toppings such as pickles, onions, and avocado.

While I found the most effortless way to be cooking it in a pan you can also cook it in an oven. This meal is keto and ideal for pescatarians. Moreover, if you shop at Trader Joe’s all your ingredients can be picked up in one place, facilitating the hassle of doing groceries and meal planning. The burger can also, of course, be cooked on a barbecue. Making it perfect for a summer day or any outdoor occasion. Whether it be a day at a park or a backyard cookout, the salmon burger will not disappoint.

It is an inviting meal that reaches a large audience. It’s also enjoyable to see the different combinations of toppings people use making for good conversation on food preferences. The combination of ketchup and mayo that I used spurred a particularly interesting and funny conversation between my roommate and I on the combination of flavors, making for a meal that gave me a good memory in every way possible.

Salmon Burger Ingredients:

Example: First, let’s chat ingredients…

  • Salmon Burger: Purchase a box of salmon burgers from Trader Joe’s. If you shop elsewhere you can purchase any other type of salmon burgers.
  • Lettuce: Use half a leaf of romaine lettuce. I typically cut mine into a square shape to better fit the burger. You can also utilize any other type of green such as arugula or even spinach.
  • Tomato: Use about three cherry tomatoes or one slice of a normal tomato. I find the cherry tomatoes are easier to cut and distribute how you want about your burger.
  • Condiments: I utilize ketchup and mayonnaise but of course mustard or any other sauce can be used as well.
  • Cheese: I find cheddar cheese enhances the taste of this meal the most however any type of cheese such as swiss, American, provolone, etc. would compliment it well. Use one slice or desired amount.
  • Bread: This salmon burger goes with bread or burger buns if desired. If you are striving for a healthier option you can have a breadless burger.

How to Make a Salmon Burger:

  • Prep the Pan. On your pan add about a tablespoon of olive oil. Turn on the stove to low heat to allow the olive oil to simmer without popping. Then gradually turn the stove up to medium heat.
  • Cook the Salmon Burger. The salmon burger doesn’t have to defrost. So once your pan is on medium heat add the salmon burger to it. Cook each side for 5-6 minutes.
  • Prepare Toppings. As the salmon burger is cooking, wash your tomatoes and lettuce and proceed to chop them. Use around 3 cherry tomatoes or one slice of tomato.
  • Add ingredients together. Once your salmon burger is ready you can either place it on top of bread or just on a plate. Then add cheddar cheese or any other type of cheese. Then add on ketchup and mayonnaise or any other sauce of your choice. Finally, place the lettuce on top and coat it with your tomatoes.

Notes:

You can add or remove any toppings. You can also use bread. Moreover, if you want to enhance the flavor you can coat the burger in seasoning.
