Skinny “Fried” Chicken Recipe

Everyone wants to make some of the best home cooking out there, but we also want to keep our waistline.  You can achieve the great and classic fried chicken taste without even frying the chicken and using white meat.  It’s crispy, juicy, golden brown, and healthier than you think.  Only two things cut the calories nearly in half: an oven and corn flakes!  Follow this recipe for Skinny “Fried” Chicken.


  • 5 cups corn cereal (like corn flakes)
  • 4 skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1/8 cup black pepper
  • 1/8 cup garlic powder


  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly spray a baking sheet with olive oil.
  • Crush the cereal in a plastic bag to your liking, and place in a bowl or on a cookie sheet
  • Combine salt, pepper, and garlic powder in small bowl
  • In a medium sized bowl, whisk buttermilk, water, and eggs
  • Grab each piece of chicken, sprinkle with the salt seasoning, dip in the egg mixture, and roll in the crushed cereal (Pack the cereal on!)
  • Place on the baking sheet and put them in the oven for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown
