Summer Concert Wardrobe Essentials
Outdoor concerts are one of the many things I love about the summer time. There’s nothing quite like watching the sun set while waiting for a musical act to take the stage. In order to enjoy my night to the fullest, I like to be sure my outfit is a balance of comfort and style. Here are some ideas to help you plan the perfect concert outfit.
- Baby doll dresses
The great thing about baby doll dresses is that they’re loose fitting and breezy. They won’t cling if the temperature outside gets hot, and you’ll look stylish without having to put in too much effort. Just remember: if you’re taller (like me) try to wear a pair of shorts underneath so you’re not constantly pulling down your dress instead of enjoying the show!
- Joggers or harem pants
While these two styles are not the same—harem pants are, typically, looser than joggers—both pants are a great alternative to wearing jeans. Both styles of pants come in a variety of prints and can be matched with a simple t-shirt or crop top.
- Slip-on sneakers
If you’re looking for shoes that won’t give you blisters on the half-mile trek back to your car after the concert, these are a great option. Again, there are plenty of styles, like perforated or animal print.
- “Kimono” cover-up
These cover-ups make any outfit look better instantly. They’re a perfect alternative to bringing a jacket or heavy shirt after the temperature cools down at night.
- Loose tank tops
Like with the baby doll dresses, these tank tops are breezy and won’t make you sweat. I don’t recommend wearing these with a regular bra, though; try a lace or striped bandeau instead to make your outfit more interesting and more modest.
