1. “Angel Beats”

“Angel Beats” takes place in the afterlife. Otonashi is a boy who develops amnesia after dying, but he never expects to end up in the afterlife with other students. He meets a strong-willed character by the name of Yuri who leads a battle organization against Kanade Tachibana and Angel. Otonashi and his classmates’ fight in the battle organization as they try to regain life memories. “Angel Beats” special storyline consequently connects the characters together to create an emotional masterpiece.

2. “Clannad”

“Clannad” also takes place at a school. But of course, “Clannad” does not involve the afterlife. However, the anime does focus on Tomoya Okazaki who tries to navigate both home and school life. But he realizes how unhappy he was when a girl, Nagisa Furukawa, enters into his life. Nagisa and Tomoya’s love story continues in “Clannad: The After Story” with beautiful yet heartbreaking moments. Sometimes, simple anime shows can make us the most emotional.

3. “Parasyte: The Maxim”

A high school student, Shinichi Izumi, becomes infected by a parasite in his right hand. He has trouble accepting the fact that a parasite lives inside his body, so he tries to find ways to destroy it. Later on, he learns that the parasite inside of him holds the knowledge to parasites coexisting with humans. Additionally, Migi, the parasite, protects him from other parasites as they try to infect Izumi’s brain. “Parasyte: The Maxim” is an anime show that will make you question today’s society.

4. “Ouran High School Host Club”

A comedic romance that every anime fan should dive into, Haruhi Fujioka is mistaken for a boy, but she has a natural skill for impressing the girls. However, Tamaki Suoh begins to see her as a woman despite her ‘masculine’ demeanor. “Ouran High School Host Club “is not the typical romantic comedy but introduces the genre, ‘reverse harem,’ which focuses on one girl with multiple boy characters. “Ouran High School Host Club” made us want to attend the prestigious academy with gorgeous boys and delicious desserts.

5. “Toradora”

“Toradora” features two bold characters in a typical school setting. Ryuji Takasu and Taiga Aisaka seem to clash instantly but what happens when they realize their close relationship. Will their friendship change? Although “Toradora” consists of typical anime genres, the plot and the characters are sure to keep you on your toes! Are you a fan of bold anime characters?

6. “Kaichou Wa Maid Sama”

Misaki Ayuzawa is determined to change Seika High School since girls became the minority. Representing the female class president, Misaki seems to have the whole world on her shoulders with responsibilities. Even though she is working as the female class president, Misaki has a strong hatred for men. But Tamaki Usui starts to interfere in her life. Will Tamaki give away her secret?

7. “Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma”

One of the few anime shows revolving around food, this one is about The Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute, a school for the best chefs. Soma Yukihira’s dream is to become a chef for his family’s small restaurant. He manages to secure a spot in the famous institute, but he soon learns about his father’s history at the school. Once Soma’s there, he becomes focused on taking the number one spot at the academy. It’s important to note that your appetite will grow when you watch “Food Wars!”

8. “Attack on Titan”

A post-apocalyptic classic in the anime world, “Attack on Titam” is a must watch! In the beginning, a woman made a deal with the devil and from there she turned her into a humanoid giant. The king uses her powers to destroy the nation, Marley. But after dying, her powers split into nine parts to pass down to the Fritz family. Eren Yeager is determined to take revenge for the death of his mother by joining the military to fight the titans. “Attack on Titan” is the dark-fantasy that makes us re-think humanity.

9. “Fairytail”

“Fairytail”is a classic fantasy anime! Home to magic, guilds, and wizards, “Fairytail” never fails to give us an exciting storyline. Natsu Dragneel from the Fairy Tail guild sets out to search for his missing adoptive father. On his journey, he meets people to aid him in his adventure, specifically when fighting the black dragon.

10. “The Seven Deadly Sins”

One of the most popular anime shows on Netflix, “The Seven Deadly Sins,”is a story that revolves around a band of knights from Britannica. Furthermore, Elizabeth Liones finds the leader of the ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ to clear their names. As the sins rebel against the ten commandments, Meliodas turns out to be the demon king’s son. In other words, be prepared for quite an adventure!
