As you may recall, here on I’ve been giving you the scoop NordicTrack X11i Incline Trainer and six reasons why you should own it. Now I am back to follow-up and talk about three amazing ways in which incline training gives you a killer workout.

It burns more calories and fat!!!

The more you increase in incline, the more you increase in calories burned. Its that simple! On average, walking two mph with no incline for twenty minutes will burn 87 calories. By increasing the incline to 40% and walking the same speed for the same amount of time, you will burn 381 calories! That is almost fives times the amount of calories! Who doesn’t want to burn more calories during a workout?

It gives your muscles a deeper workout!!!

Walking without an incline only works 20% of your muscle tissue, however, working out with an incline forces more of the muscles in your lower body to work harder. This is excellent for strength training as well as for toning up your legs. You’ll see the best results if you use a treadmill at a 15% incline or greater–the NordicTrack X11i Incline Trainer allows you to reach a 40% incline!

It increases your heart rate!!!

Working out with an incline really gets your heart moving, without you needed to speed your entire body up. Your heart will react the same while walking three mph at a 12% incline as it would while running six mph with no incline. This means you can take your time on an incline trainer, all while still getting your heart rate up.

As you can see, incline training truly maximizes your workouts and allows for you to reap benefits you wouldn’t usually receive with a zero-incline workout. Incline training also reduces shock to your knees, so won’t have to worry about your joints getting in the way of your health.
