Want to throw a summer birthday party for someone special, but don’t want corny decorations? Well since its summer, why not give them a summer themed party without the beach! Try out these decorations and food ideas to spruce up any dull summer house party.
The popular trend right now is to decorate with mason jars. Cut up some lemons and put into the jar. Fill the jar with water, and stick some flowers in it. These will not only make the party very beautiful, but also bring some country to it as well.
Freeze some ice cubes in a fish tray and make some ice fish to put in blue Hawaiian punch. You can buy the trays for $5 on eBay. This will be sure to be cute and quench the thirsts of the guests, especially for those with kids.
Want to have some “grown up” drinks at the party? Then you should try adult root beer floats. Just add root beer, vanilla vodka, and a dollop of vanilla ice cream or whipped crème. Of course it’s not complete without the cherry on top!
Here is another cute summer adult drink. This one requires ½ cup Nerds candy, ½ gallon goldfish bowl, 5 oz. vodka, 5 oz. Malibu rum, 3 oz. blue Curacao, 6 oz. sweet-and-sour mix, 16 oz. pineapple juice, 16 oz. Sprite, 3 slices each: lemon, lime, orange, and 4 Swedish gummy fish. First Sprinkle Nerds on the bottom of bowl as “gravel,” then fill bowl with ice. Add remaining ingredients. Serve with 18-inch party straws, and enjoy!
Of course a party is not a party without some balloons. If this party is geared towards the evening, then why not add some glow sticks in them. Put the glow sticks in before you blow them up. This will give a fun ambiance at the party and provide some extra lighting as well!

Don’t want to pay extra for helium? Here is a little trick you can do from home that will save your lungs from heavy breathing and your wallet. Once you put the glow sticks in the balloon, add vinegar and baking soda to a water bottle and blow up your balloon!
You can also use the glow stick balloons as pool lantern. Put at least three glow sticks in the balloon to weigh them down.
Give your cupcakes a beach theme by adding blue frosting and attach gold fish to the cupcakes. Use chocolate frosting for the eyes and vanilla frosting or white candy confetti for the bubbles.
Try out this little bear at the beach snack for dessert. Just use blue Jell-O, vanilla pudding, gummy bears, and a beach umbrella! This is really easy and cute dessert.
Enjoy the summer parties beauties!
