There’s zero doubt that Amazon is the most convenient way to go shopping from the comfort of your own home. However, there are a lot of easy Amazon hacks that even the savviest shopper may not know about. I’ve gathered 10 of my favorites to help you save money, no getting out of your PJs required. 😉
Amazon Hack #1: Digitally Clip Coupons
Yes, Amazon has coupons! I didn’t know about this one until recently, and coupons offer a (~whole new~) world of savings on a huge variety of items. From everyday necessities to fun makeup finds, if you’re looking to buy something, clip some Amazon coupons first to save some cash. Click below to see some categories:
- Most Popular Coupons
- Grocery & Gourmet Coupons
- Health & Personal Care Coupons
- Beauty Coupons
- Office & School Supplies Coupons
- Home Coupons
Amazon Hack #2: Hunt on Amazon Deals
An additional way to save money on specific items is through Amazon Deals. Every single day, Amazon posts new deals for you to take advantage of. You can hunt by Department (including Fashion, Beauty, Home, & more), or narrow it down by deal type. Click below to start exploring different types:
Amazon Hack #3: Score on Lightly Used from Amazon Warehouse
Just like many of your favorite stores have warehouses, Amazon does too! Amazon Warehouse offers amazing deals on millions (yes, millions) of lightly used products. This is a genius way to get a discount on products that are still totally good, such as laptops, televisions, vacuums, furniture, or digital cameras. There’s even a category dedicated to unlocked cell phones so you can upgrade your phone for less.
Amazon Hack #4: Get Discounted Overstock from Amazon Outlet
You may already be visiting your local outlet malls to save, but have you been paying visits to Amazon Outlet? Like the best outlet mall on steroids, Amazon Outlet offers thousands of discounted overstock items. There’s also the added benefit of not having to drive two hours and dedicate an entire day to shopping…you can get all the best deals at the Amazon Outlet!
Amazon Hack #5: Subscribe & Save
Do you buy staples like toothpaste, toilet paper, or dog food every month? You can subscribe to those items on Amazon and get them automatically delivered at 1-6 month intervals at a discounted price! You’ll never run out of TP again… Plus, subscribe to 5 or more products in a month to unlock 15% savings.
Amazon Hack #6: Order Bulk Groceries for Less
Amazon’s grocery service Amazon Pantry offers a flat $5.99 shipping rate (or FREE shipping with Prime) on a large variety of well-priced items – and boxes can hold up to 45 pounds. So, skip a trip to the store by ordering your must-have groceries, snacks, beverages, household supplies, and beauty items in bulk. And you can shop & save: order 5 items to get 5% off, 10+ items for 10% off!
Amazon Hack #7: Use Custom Search Parameters
Any skilled Amazon shopper will already be utilizing the advanced search options on the right-hand side of the website. However, very few people know that you can customize your search even further by adding to the URL.
To see all products that are 50-80% off, just add this to the end of the Amazon URL:
To see all products that are 60% off and up, add this to the end of the Amazon URL:
You can totally customize this with different levels of discounts!
Amazon Hack #8: Get Gifts Cards for Free Shipping
If you don’t have a Prime account, you’ve probably ordered random stuff you didn’t really need to hit the minimum $35 purchase for free shipping. (We’ve all been there.) Next time you’re ordering something less than $35, fill in the difference by buying a gift card to a place you love to go, like Starbucks, Nordstrom, or a movie theatre. Instead of getting more clutter in the mail, you’ll have money to spend at a spot you would be shopping at anyway!
Amazon Hack #9: Get A Prime Account
I know, you already know about this one, but do you know just how many perks come with upgrading to Prime?! Prime members get more and more benefits every day, including:
- 10% off products from Whole Foods Markets
- Unlimited FREE two-day shipping on over 100 million items
- Free streaming of thousands of popular TV shows and movies through Prime Video
- Free listening of 2+ million songs on Amazon Music
- Early access to Lightning Deals (remember those?)
An Amazon Prime membership costs $119 per year, or $12.99 per month. This can bring on some sticker shock, but if you use Amazon a lot, it’s going to save you money in the long run. And if you don’t have that kind of cash to invest in an account right now, I have some Prime hacks to help you out.
