The Chicago Transit Authority or CTA is the 2nd largest transit authority in the nation! The CTA’s 1,888 buses and 1,492 rail cars make about 21,119 trips each day! Trains operate at ground level, underground, and even elevated- which inspired its nickname “The L”.
