In a previous article, we discussed the trends that we were seeing so far in the Spring 2013 RTW collections. Those trends were black and white and ruffles. Here is how you can make runway trends more tame and more applicable to everyday life.
Black and white is a trend that has been all over the runway and although it is out in force this spring, black and white are never dated which means you can look great all year, every year, no matter the weather. Some of the runway trends are a little over-the-top and crazy which makes it hard for a person to imagine that ever translating into everyday life, but luckily with this trend, that won’t be an issue! You’ll see from the next few pictures that it really is easy to make a crazy runway trend into a simple everyday look!
With this great Anthropologie blouse, you can incorporate the black and white trend without going overboard on patterns. This T by Alexander Wang dress is super cute and simple and the great thing about black and white is that you can experiment with color elsewhere, like with these Brian Atwood neon pink pumps. The next spring trend that sometimes scares people is ruffles. Ruffles can be too much sometimes but if you think “simplicity,” then you can’t go too wrong!
Try a cute, summery dress with a little ruffle on top or a simple ruffled blouse with some colored jeans and ballet flats. Simple and chic! (Blouse, Pants and Flats – Net-a-porter); (Dress – Forever 21)
