To kick off Phase four in a strong way, Marvel Studios released Black Widow in July 2021. After Endgame, fans were concerned about the future of the MCU and their beloved characters. New characters calmed these fears though, and they've become fan favorites!
David Harbour plays the Red Guardian, the hilarious fake dad to Natasha Romanoff better known as Black Widow. The newest favorite of the MCU is Florence Pugh's character Yelena Belova.
Yelena has since appeared in more Marvel projects, most recently Hawkeye with Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld.
Although this will most likely be her last Marvel Studios appearance, Scarlett Johansson reprised her role as Natasha Romanoff. In her movie, we finally learn about the backstory to the mysterious Black Widow and learn who she really is.
When she realizes the other Widows are under mind control from her former leader, she sets out to find her long lost "sister" Yelena and the two people who pretended to be her parents to take the organization down.
Although this movie takes place before Infinity War and Endgame, the thrilling action left fans on the edge of their seats the entire time with sprinkles of comedy and heartwarming moments here and there.
