Based on the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr, Virgin River is a romantic drama about a woman named Melinda Monroe, who picks up a job as a midwife and nurse practitioner. After dealing with a painful past, she vows to start anew in the small, Northern California town, Virgin River. But she begins to discover that small towns may be a bit more difficult to adjust to.
