111 Best Quotes from Season 2 of Altered Carbon
First premiering in 2018, Netflix’s critically-acclaimed Altered Carbon is a cyberpunk television series, adapted from Richard K. Morgan’s novel of the same name. Set in a futuristic dystopian world where humans and technology have blended into one, Altered Carbon‘s intricate worldbuilding has garnered many fans across the world.
The series follows Takeshi (Tak) Kovacs, an elite soldier who prior to the story betrays the army corps and joins a rebel group. While season 1 features Takeshi solving a murder mystery, season 2 is centered around his search for long-lost lover Quellcrist Falconer.
Embedded within both arcs is a fascinating delve into the ethics of technological development, identity, and power. Characters are able to preserve their consciousness by storing them in chip-like “stacks,” which they then insert into bodies, also called “sleeves.” Viewers will find in this action-charged series many parallels, both unnerving and assuring, to our relationship with the digital world.
