3 Reasons to See #ReadyPlayerOne

Directed by Steven Spielberg, Ready Player One is sure to thrill audiences everywhere!  This movie has already received tons of great reviews, so I’m positive that it will dominate the box office.  In the year 2045 a new virtual reality game, OASIS, has been created that removes people from their boring lives and lets them live adventurously.  OASIS was created by the awkward genius James Halliday (Mark Rylance) and rapidly became a nationwide phenomenon. Immediately following his death, Halliday reveals through a video that he has hidden a digital Easter egg inside the OASIS and the first person to find it will receive a grand prize.  When Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) sets his sights on finding the Easter egg, he recruits help from his friends who will stop at nothing to find the grand prize. Here are 3 reasons to see Ready Player One, in theaters today!

1. The Film Features Hundreds of Pop Culture References

In the OASIS the sky’s the limit.  You can be anything you want to be and your creativity is the only thing that determines what you’re able to do in this virtual reality.  The OASIS is filled with hundreds of video game and movie characters that you’ll happily recognize. From Chucky the doll to Batman, Ready Player One will highlight some of your favorite pop culture characters and icons.

2. The Soundtrack is Incredible

Very rarely does a movie soundtrack make you want to get out of your seat and start dancing.  Surprisingly enough Ready Player One had me singing along to some of my favorite throwback songs.  From “Take on Me” by a-ha to “Jump” by Van Halen, this movie features some amazing tracks.

3. It’s Based on a Book

Ready Player One is actually based on a book with the same title.  The bestselling novel was written by Ernest Cline and has been a huge success, and I predict that the movie will follow in its footsteps.
