4 Reasons Orlando Makes a Great Place To Visit

Orlando, FL, might be the butt of a lot of jokes among the intelligentsia, but people all over the world love it. There’s something extraordinary about the place – something that makes it fun and unique.

Here’s why we love Orlando as a holiday destination.

It Feels Like Home Away From Home

Sometimes you leave your neighborhood for distant lands and can quickly wind up feeling out of your comfort zone. Experiencing a new culture can be overwhelming.

Orlando, though, takes the best of the culture that we already know and amplifies it. You get all of the usual amenities and attractions, just better.

It Is Close To Beautiful Rural Locations

Orlando is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Auburndale FL and the central wetlands – some of the most beautiful parts of the country. So while the tourist city might be best known for Disney Land and an abundance of fast-food restaurants, it also has its quieter, more peaceful side. There’s loads of accommodation here and plenty of houses for sale, overlooking beautiful lakes. It is an idyllic place to buy a second home.

There’s A Community For Everyone

Florida is an eclectic place where people of all stripes are welcome. Here, there’s a community for practically everyone, from motorbikers to LGBT.

You’re Never Far From World-Class Attractions

Everyone knows about Disney World. But there’s also SeaWorld, I-Drive, Universal Orlando Resort and The Wheel at ICON Park. Madame Tussauds also has an exhibition in the city. And there’s the SEA LIFE Orlando aquarium – another place you can hang out with all your favorite marine life.

Outside of the main destination, there is ample opportunity to indulge in a spot of adventure. There are airboat rides across the swamp, fun to be had at Wild Florida, and a tree park where you can do your best impression of a monkey.

You Get Bright, Beautiful Weather For Most Of The Year

Yes, things can get a little stormy in the Gulf of Mexico from August onwards, but the weather in Orlando is usually fine and dry for most of the year. You can show up in mid-February and feel as if you’d had a wonderful summer’s outing. In fact, winter is one of the best times to visit the destination full-stop. Temperatures are usually a balmy 70 degrees – warm enough to put on your Daisy Dukes, but not so hot you have to stay in an air-conditioned room.

There’s also no point worrying about unexpected hurricanes. Weather monitoring in the mid-Atlantic is now so sophisticated that you usually have several days’ warning before the storm hits. Most hotels are very good at helping people find transport to the nearest airport.

We love Orlando. And given how much it has to offer, you should too.
