4 Reasons to See #AtomicBlonde
Atomic Blonde is one of the most action packed movies of the summer and you don’t want to miss this killer flick! My expectations for this movie weren’t set very high, (sometimes action movies aren’t really my thing) but this one completely surprised me. It was intense without being too unrealistic and had the perfect amount of comedy mixed into the plot. Agent Lorraine Broughton (Charlize Theron) is a violent spy, capable of completely mutilating anyone who gets in her way. When she’s sent to Berlin to obtain a secret dossier that’s being hunted by spies around the world, she must team up with David Percival (James McAvoy) to retrieve the coveted documents. Lorraine has to fight her way through Berlin, just barely escaping death many times along the way. Deceit and betrayal both play huge roles in the plot of this movie and your eyes will be glued to the screen, waiting to see who will be deceived next. Here are 4 reasons to see this Atomic Blonde, in theaters today!
1. The Movie Includes Fantastic Music
From David Bowie to Queen, Atomic Blonde utilizes some of the most popular tracks from the 70s and 80s to set the tone of the plot. These songs are perfectly placed into the story and give the film moments of humor when the songs are able to accurately describe the events that are taking place. The music was also a great way to break the tension of the film when the storyline got a little too dark.
2. There are Tons of Action and Hand-to-Hand Combat Scenes
The majority of this movie was made up of hand-to-hand combat scenes and stunts — and I was totally okay with that. One of my favorite fight scenes from the movie actually took place in a stairwell and it was INCREDIBLE. Lorraine is able to take out villains one by one, no matter the circumstances or obstacles she may encounter.
3. Charlize Theron is a Blonde BOSS
Atomic Blonde is one of the few movies that I’ve seen where the “dumb blonde” stereotype isn’t applied, and it was incredibly refreshing. Although it may not seem like it, this movie was all about female empowerment. Charlize Theron plays her role perfectly and proves that women can do anything that men can.
4. It’s Not Like Every Other Action Movie that Already Exists
Unlike many other action movies, this one features a female protagonist and takes place in 1989 Berlin. These unique aspects give the film a distinguished excellence that many other movies simply cannot achieve.
