4 Reasons to See #TheBeguiled
One of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer, The Beguiled, hits theaters on June 30th! When I first watched the trailer, I was a bit skeptical of this movie, but it exceeded my expectations and I truly loved it. Set in the south during the Civil War, a young girl stumbles upon a wounded soldier, Corporal John McBurney (Colin Farrell) and decides to bring him back to her all-girls boarding school where he can be taken care of. With his charm and charisma, John manages to make his way into the hearts of every girl at the boarding school, especially, the sweet and lovely Edwina (Kirsten Dunst), the young and cunning Alicia (Elle Fanning) and the woman in charge of the whole facility, Martha (Nicole Kidman). John is eventually able to woo each of these three girls into thinking that he is the love of their lives. As the girls become aware of John’s manipulative actions, Edwina makes a hasty decision that puts the lives of many at risk. This suspenseful story gives a new meaning to the word, “revenge.” Here are 4 reasons to see The Beguiled, in theaters today!
1. The Film Features Beautiful Southern Scenery
Although the story takes place in Virginia, the movie was actually filmed in southern Louisiana and features some of the most breathtaking views that the south has to offer. The beautiful shots of southern scenery also play a huge role in establishing a sense of location for audience members. From shots of gorgeous sunsets to flourishing beds of flowers, the astonishing beauty of the south is something that is indescribable.
2. Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman Make Up the Perfect Group of Vengeful Ladies
These three women were perfect in their roles as vengeful ladies and there was a very lifelike tension between their characters that audience members loved. Sharing a crush with two other people is definitely not a delightful experience and this movie demonstrates that situation to the extreme. The cold-bloodedness of the three women is a bit horrifying and chills the bones of every person in the theater.
3. It has an Ending that Makes You Think
Without spoiling the end of the movie, I’ll try my best to describe this point. As the movie ended, I thought it was an interesting yet simple way to close up the story. It wasn’t until I got into my car to leave the theater that I realized the underlying meaning of the ending and what it implied. Once I figured this out, I really had a deeper love for the movie and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I hope everyone who goes to see this movie has the same “ah-ha” moment that I had.
4. The Movie Creates a Beautiful Story Out of a Simple Plot
A simple story of a man who has manipulation and infidelity issues is a pretty simple plot. The Beguiled takes this otherwise simple plot and turns it into something spectacular. I couldn’t believe how much I loved this movie and I’m sure you will all love it too!
You don’t want to miss all the treachery and deception of this movie! Make sure to see The Beguiled when it hits theaters today!

Looks interesting. Great cast. One thing that you failed to detail, is that this movie is a remake of a classic. I would suggest that you watch the original. One of Clint Eastwood’s more obscure and yet amazing roles. I highly doubt that this new version can beat it.
