4th of July Party Hacks-KC LIVE TV Segment

4th of July is coming up and you want to make sure your party is a breeze! I had so much fun sharing my tips and tricks for a fun and unique party on KC LIVE Monday. In case you missed it, watch my segment and read for more details below:

Establish a Play Area for the Kids

Create a FunZone for the kids to hang and watch fireworks by placing a comfy blanket on the ground! Not only will this be a great spot for them all to gather, but placing the blanket in a certain spot far enough away from the fireworks (if you’re shooting some off yourself) ensures a safe and injury-free holiday!

Offer Healthy Choices

During the holidays it can be easy to get swept up in all the not-so-healthy sides like chips, mac and cheese, or potato salad. Try placing some healthier options out for your guests to snack on! I recommend Mann’s Power Slaws, a healthy pre-prepped option that you can last minute put out, or some fruit like strawberries or blueberries to keep the patriotic theme.

Make and Serve fun Cocktails in Mason Jars

Give your party a fun southern flare by making a cocktail with Clyde May’s Alabama Style Whiskey and serving it in Mason Jars! My favorite recipe includes:

  • 2 ounces of Clyde May’s Alabama Style Whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon of real maple syrup
  • 4 ounces of tea (black or rooibos)

Stir all the ingredients together and add ice if desired.

Other whiskeys are fine to use, but the sweetness and maple undertones in Clyde May’s taste the most authentic. You can get this one of a kind whiskey here for $35.

Use Pool Floats for Decor

Make your party stand out from the rest by using BigMouth Inc. floats not only for pool use but for decorations! Use the American Flag float as a backdrop, the Patriotic Beverage Boats for drink holders and the Watermelon Serving Ring for snacks! You can find more party floats online at BigMouth Inc. or at retailers such as Target, Nordstrom, Kohl’s, Bed Bath and Beyond or Amazon.
