5 Budget Friendly Brunches in Kansas City

Ahh yes, brunch: the most fun meal of them all.  An excuse to meet with friends and day drink without guilt.  The act of brunching has only grown in popularity thanks to four fictional characters who’ve forever changed the way with dine.

Since Sex and the City glamorized the breakfast-lunch hybrid, prices have skyrocketed.  Their average brunch can run you anywhere from $40-$60! (Thanks, Carrie!)  The hefty price tag attached to this leisurely weekend activity has left an entire category of diners without their Sunday brunch fix.

Well, I’ve searched high and low to find the best brunch specials Kansas City Has to offer and I proudly present you with the five best brunch spots in Kansas City for under $30.

Julep Cocktail Club 4141 Pennsylvania Ave #104, Kansas City, MO 64111

With entrees like their Waffle Nachos or their Pork Belly with a side of Cheesy Corn Polenta, this quaint cocktail lounge is already hard to resist on a Sunday morning.  Now factor in unlimited mimosas for just $10 with the purchase on any entrée and try refraining from Julep’s.  Considering their most expensive menu item is $16, you won’t leave spending more than $26.00!

Louie’s Wine Dive 7100 Wornall Rd. ,  Kansas City MO 64114

Though the mimosas do have a bottom, it’s pretty deep.  For $12 you receive a large carafe (will serve about 6 drinks) with the purchase of any entree and the food is simply amazing.  I’ve gone back several times since discovering Louie’s Wine Dive and still can’t decide between their Riesling Apple French Toast, Fresh Veggie (or salmon) Eggs Benedict, Fried Egg Sandwich, or Breakfast Tacos.  Too many delicious options!

I’m stating the obvious for anyone who knows me, but there are two things I love when it comes to food: heat (of the spicy variety) and carbs! With that being said, I couldn’t resist the Jalapeño Grits and bottomless mimosas for just 9.95.  Together the meal cost me under 25.00.  How can you beat that?

Bottomless Mimosas, Bromosas (OJ & Beer), Bloody Mary’s, and Red Beer with the purchase of any entrée will only leave with a tab of $11.00!  While the brunch menu is smaller than most of the other places listed in this post, the food tops anything I’ve ever experienced.  Everything felt decadent and was absolutely delicious!

Avenues Bistro 338 W. 63^rd St., Kansas City, MO 64113

This cute bistro located in the Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City offers bottomless Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, Billini’s, Bloody May’s, Pomegranate Punch’s, and Wine Spritzers for $10.  With entrees costing about $8-$12, you can get buzzed on a variety of morning cocktails and indulge in a delicious brunch for under $20!

Brunch is a bonding experience.  It’s an activity shared with friends to unwind before the start of another hectic week.  These are great options whether you’re looking for an excuse to day drink or just get together with girlfriends.  Best part, you and your wallets can stay full!
