5 Movies To Watch Before Halloween

October has got to be the best month of the year! Not only do you have Halloween to look forward to, but it’s the perfect time to watch scary movies. With Halloween right around the corner, here are 5 movies to watch before the month is over!

1. Hocus Pocus

Of course, we have to start with a classic. Hocus Pocus takes place in Salem, Massachusetts, the famous town where the Salem witch trials took place. When Max (Omri Kratz) accidentally awakens the Sanderson Sisters, he must stop them from becoming immortal with the help of his sister, Dani (Thora Birch), and his new crush, Allison (Vinessa Shaw). The Sanderson Sisters are played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy which just makes it that much more iconic! It’s the perfect movie to watch with your family since it is kid-friendly!

2. Halloween (1978)

Starring Jaime Lee Curtis, Halloween (1978) is an absolute must watch. Micheal Myers murders his sister on Halloween night and is imprisoned. However, 15 years later he escapes and returns for his next victim causing fear throughout the town. This is the perfect time to watch the film with the sequel starring Curtis premiering this month!

3. The Sixth Sense 

The Sixth Sense focuses on Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) a young boy who has the ability to see dead people and his therapist played by Bruce Willis. With the help of Dr. Crowe, Cole is able to navigate his special ability. Not only is this film the perfect amount of spooky, but has one of the best twist endings ever!

4. Halloweentown

You can’t make a Halloween movie list without Halloweentown! When Marnie Piper (Kimberly J. Brown) overhears that she’s a witch, she and her siblings follow their grandma (Debbie Reynolds) back to her home of Halloweentown. There they band together to save the town and their grandma from the evil Kalabar (Robin Thomas).  This film is the definition of a classic and one that must be watched. It’s perfect for the whole family!

5. Scream 

This star-studded film follows Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and her friends as they become targets of a masked killer named Ghostface. Not only is this film a great horror movie but a mystery as well, trying to figure out who Ghostface is. It’s definitely one that will leave you at the edge of your seat the entire time!
