5 Reasons to See The Mummy
When I first saw the trailer for The Mummy, I had expected a cheesy, somewhat ironic reboot of the original 1999 film, but my expectations were completely wrong. I was hooked on this film within its first few minutes of screentime and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good Tom Cruise action movie. When soldier Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) and his partner Chris Vail (Jake Johnson) accidentally discover an ancient Egyptian sarcophagus, they unleash the evil power of Egyptian princess Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella) and get themselves into a situation that they wouldn’t be able to imagine in their wildest nightmares.
In addition to the unearthed evil Egyptian princess, Nick also releases a curse that follows him around throughout the entire course of the movie. In order to break the curse and restore humanity to the streets of London, Nick teams up with archaeologist Jenny Halsey (Annabelle Wallis) and the two embark on their incredible mission. 1. The Plot is Very Suspenseful
The Mummy is one of those movies where there’s a huge plot twist every so often, and I couldn’t have loved it more. I was on the edge of my seat, waiting in awe to see what would come next for the main characters. From plane crashes to epic fight scenes, this movie will captivate you and leave you wanting more (I’m hoping for a sequel)!
2. You Can See it in 3D
When you see this movie, you absolutely have to see it in 3D. The 3D effect was amazing and made everything about ten times creepier, especially the scenes with spiders. Be prepared to jump out your seat with fear, because if you see this film in 3D, you definitely will. Even if you’re not a huge fan of 3D movies, give it a try for this one (you’ll thank me later).
3. The Movie Uses Incredibly Eerie Special Effects
I have never seen creatures that were quite as creepy and lifelike as the ones featured in The Mummy. The terrifying mummies stole the show and the audience was surely horrified by the authenticness of the creatures each time they appeared onscreen. I simply cannot explain how frightening these special effects were, so you’ll just have to see for yourself!
4. Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis have Amazing On-Screen Chemistry
I simply cannot imagine the two lead roles being played by anyone other than Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis. These actors had an amazing on-screen connection and their witty banter lightened the mood of the movie during some of the ominous scenes. With top notch acting and superb character portrayal, Cruise and Wallis were the perfect people to play these roles.
5. The Film Features Themes of Sacrifice
Sacrifice is a significant theme that plays a huge role in the plot of this movie. The importance of sacrifice is not only present in this film, but in life as well. This movie will remind you that some people are worth sacrificing everything for.
